I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I always enjoy reading Selena Kitt's books, and this was no exception. From the beginning I was engaged, wondering what had happened to this broken young woman, and her ultimate fear, and paranoia of others,especially those dressed in blue.
As the storyline progressed, I learned a lot more about Ginny, her sister Maggie, and Maggie's children, along with Brody the stepfather , as a new character is introduced.
The plot carried through with suspense, entanglement, fear , excitement, and more as Ginny faces true evil, leaving us with a perfect amount of bliss , and happiness as the story unwinds.

5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ highly recommended!

“Sometimes good people have to do bad things,”
This book took me some time to figure out how to put what I wanted to say into words for my review.
At first it started out really slow, which is unusual for anyone that reads PJ Adams. Then it was skipping from past tense to present tense between both of the main characters Alex, and Sunita . It was slow until a quarter or so of the way in at least, but after getting through those periods of past present slowness you understand later that the information is quite crucial halfway in the book, carrying on to the end. You would be completely confused of the complexity in Alex, and Laura, as well as other important characters, and happenings. The Plot is terrific and catches you off guard and I must add The author wrote the ending with one he1l of a punch!

Some swoony worthy moments , a woman that isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in whether its with guns pointed or drinking coffee, and a hero that will go beyond his own laws to protect and help the one he loves.

'Sometimes, even though the timing isn’t right, you need to take your opportunities rather than risk losing them forever.'

“I love you,” he whispered , and knew then that with those words he risked hurting her far more brutally than anything physical.

Oh wow this was entertaining to say the least! I've never seen 2 of a kind like this before! Both with alpha type personalities , yes Very entertaining!
Hunter a movie star with a good looks, usually keeping his sex life casual, not believing in anything beyond a fling, must of had bad reviews because now his life is on the line with death threats, and his manager insists on a bodyguard which Hunter completely hates the idea.
Danica, an undercover bodyguard, who loves her line of work, working for her uncle since her dad passed away a couple of years ago , is on top of the world after receiving a promotion, and getting an assignment all in one day, then she meets Hunter by showing him how lax his security is.
Physical attracted to each other, but the problem is they have to play the part of being 'together' that's when things really heat up!
I enjoyed how the author made both characters fiesty especially Danica. Many lol moments like meeting Jax with the sausage , and some sweet ones too. Much sexually frustrating moments throughout! Danger as well , so you get a mix!

I may not have had the displeasure of personally dealing with these wretched leaders who don’t play fair in our world; on the contrary, I will not tolerate any of them treating me any different because I have tits and a vagina. If it weren't for women, they would be fucking each other over more than they do now. Welcome to the first episode of badassery and women power, you self-righteous dicks.

I’m a firm believer in women’s rights. I don’t care what men’s opinions are of us or what a woman is trying to accomplish. We are all equal. The only difference we have is, women use their brain the way we should, while most men use what hangs between their legs to do their bidding for them. And I can guarantee, these overbearing suckers have dicks that should be playing a role in Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Small dicks, small brains, and all that jazz.

I’ve been fighting round after round with Cain for weeks over this. The need to protect me I get. We have a daughter, is his argument. “Why do you feel the need to take on this role? Like I said, men. I love my man, though. These pissy, arrogant cock-suckers who will be calling a meeting at any time are the worthless pieces of shit. Except the Solokovs, who think in this century and treat everyone equally like we do, not like these fools who I’ve studied until my eyes were bleeding and could no longer make out their faces through my blurred vision. Most of them I haven’t met yet, and they already make me sick and make me want to hurl all over their expensive Armani suits. They could all learn a thing or two from a woman.

What Cain and Roan don’t understand is the craving I have to protect them too. It’s my right. He’s going to have someone on me at all times. Maybe even several men. What he fails to realize is, my dad will never allow anything to happen to me. He’s already volunteered to go where I go. People are scared to death of the unstoppable John Greer, and they should be. He’s killed and made more people disappear than I want to know about, but he’s my father, my protector, and even though I trust our friends and family, I trust him more. His eyes are everywhere, trained on point. I don’t want anything to happen to my dad. I do know he will refuse to let anyone take care of what’s his, especially after the hell I went through with Roan’s older brother, Royal; a man I didn’t know before he kidnapped me. “His name is Latch.” Sofia said. She was holding back the floor to ceiling beige curtains just enough to allow her to peer out the living room window at our neighbor.

“Well at least that’s what I heard the door man say when he walked in the building earlier. Took me long enough to figure that out. Who has a name like that? Latch. Latch.” She said a few times, testing his name out, rolling the sounds around in her mouth.

She was at it again. She was convinced that our neighbor was a drug dealer, a sex trafficker, a gun smuggler … you name it, and she thought it.

“I’m pretty sure it’s not his real name,” I replied.  Even if it was his real name, Latch wasn’t as bad as Marvey.

A boy named Marvey; now that could work. I bet he would be an accountant, and Marvey is the cutesy name his obnoxious girlfriend calls him when she needs some money. A girl named Marvey? Nope, it doesn’t work. I had to endure years and years of teasing from nasty ass kids, teachers always questioning me on the first day of school, and even people wondering if that was my real name.

I mean, who names their kid Marvey?

Oh that’s right, the woman who gave birth to me - gave me life - then waited until I was tucked away in the nursery to leave. Yes, just up and left! No note, no explanation, just up and left me, her daughter, in the hospital alone with no family.

But not before naming me Marvey!

Yes, this was still a sore subject for me.

“Probably not, but still.” Sofia twirled around from the window to face me, making her thick, long, chestnut brown hair fling around her shoulder. Her Mom was from Brazil, so you can guess what she looks like already. A tan that never fades, high cheek bones, flawless skin, eyes that match the color of her hair, perfectly shaped eye brows - only because she gets them waxed once a week – and full, heart shaped lips.

She shut her notebook and eyed me up and down.

“Seriously Marv, you have unlimited access to my wardrobe and you still dress like that?”

She rolled her eyes at me and set the notebook on the table. She closed the distance between us, disappointment and disgust marring her perfect features.

I glanced down at myself – hot pink tank top and black capris, my standard outfit. Well the capris were more like sweatpants, but so damn comfortable. My black flip flops completed my look. Anyway, it’s not like I could ever afford the clothes Sofia wore.

I shrugged my shoulders. “It’s comfy.”

“It’s old.”

“Just because it was cheap doesn’t mean it’s old.”

“You look old,” she eyed me up and down again, “and frumpy.”

“I’m twenty-four!” I snapped back.

What a Ride!
Such tension filled with some outrageous moments, Alora had her hands full with all these voices in her head! Loved the pace of the book, and the differences in the characters!  I'd recommend it to adults only for the wicked situations. 5 Stars
