Review: Dark Protector

Dark Protector Dark Protector by Celia Aaron
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first read by this author.
I loved the whole danger around every corner aspect of the book.
One thrill ride after another.
Charlie is a kicka** woman.
Conrad is a killer that happens to fall in love with her.
I highly recommend this book.
Steam factor 6.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

Review: A Flaw So Beautiful

A Flaw So Beautiful A Flaw So Beautiful by Alora Kate
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an incredible emotional journey I got to witness between the leading characters Ashton and Lincoln. Painful at times, both characters are intensely"flawed" scarred, and then some.
How do you get past those horrible memories and try to live? Lincoln with help begins to "live" but for Ashton, she just goes through the motions, not really living, just a girl trying to hide in her big sunglasses, until Lincoln slowly peels each tender layer away.
It's an emotional rollercoaster, with so many ups and downs, it'll tear and tug no matter how strong you are
It's one of those books that will tend to stay with you for a very long time to come.
Highly recommended, I was given a free copy by the author, reviewed by Alpha Loving Erotic Book Beauty Blog

Synopsis:

Lincoln: Catching sight of my neighbor’s ass in the hallway the day I moved in more than piqued my interest. It's not just the body that has my attention. She's mysterious, hiding behind sunglasses that cover most of her face. I ask her name and try to get her to talk on the rare occasions I see her in the hallway, but every time she ignores me and turns away. I need to know more about this woman, I can't get her out of my head. Do I keep trying? Do I keep asking her name?

Ashton: I’m barely holding on. I’m always on the edge, even after all these years. I live every day the same and I can’t change who I am no matter how much I try. My new neighbor won't give up asking my name and trying to make conversation with me. If he knew me he wouldn't keep trying. I'm a lost cause.

Excerpt:

I sucked in a breath. “Are you trying to kill me?”

“A little dramatic don’t you think, Ashton.” She stood up and smoothed out her clothes.

Suzanne was tall, skinny, and blonde and sometimes she wore glasses. Other than that, I don’t pay attention to people or the unique details they all have. They all blend into categories, and I can’t see past that. They are short or tall, fat or skinny, and the only other thing I notice is usually their hair color. And I guess glasses. Sometimes those stick out to me.

My world is boring.

Bland.

Dull and lifeless.

Sometimes the beating of my heart is the only thing that reminds me that I'm alive.

“I’m scared, Suzanne.”

I’m always so fucking scared.

“Anxiety can do that to you.”

#ReleaseBlitz Blame It On The Shame Pt 2 Ashley Jade #DarkRomance #RomanticErotica Book Review

Title : Blame It On The Shame Part 2
Author : Ashley Jade

"Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned."

I've fallen in love with Lou-Lou.
And I'll stop at nothing to keep her away from you.

But there's one thing I never counted on...

The moment when our 'truths' would turn into lies.

I thought Bruno DeLuca was our biggest threat.

I was wrong.

Because the fire burning between us—would end up destroying us.

And killing me.

***

People think love conquers all.

What they don't know is that for some of us...it comes at a price.

The ultimate price.

Sometimes, love can end up wrecking you—instead of saving you.

Sometimes, love can quickly turn to hate.

And sometimes...even after you've killed your demons—there's still one more that comes to the surface.

"There are two sides to every story...this is ours."

Warning: Due to strong language, some violence, explicit sexual content, and some dark elements, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

*Trigger Warning*: Any readers with sensitivity to dark reads should proceed with caution and at their own risk.

You've been warned.

Author's Note: This is part two of a three-book series. (Blame It on the Shame: Lou-Lou and Ricardo's story.)
However, in order to truly enjoy Lou-Lou and Ricardo's story, it is advised you read 'Blame It on the Pain' first as this story will follow the same timeline.

I don't know where he is...but I know he's close. I open my eyes and blink rapidly due to the rain coming down much harder now.
Tingles erupt on my skin and the air thickens when I look ahead and see the outline of him walking. Only he's not walking toward me, he's walking away from me. He must have just left.
When he takes another step, I realize he's not actually walking at all...he's stumbling.
He holds his arm out, bracing himself against the alley wall briefly and I continue to watch him. He waits a beat and attempts to walk again, but stumbles...even worse this time.
I've never seen Ricardo so out of sorts before. Panic jams in my chest with my next thought. Oh, god. What if he's hurt? What if someone attacked him?
And just like that, I'm running as fast as I can to get to him. Since he's less than a block away, I catch up quickly.
His back is turned to me but I reach for his arm as he begins to sway.
His arm twitches and I can feel the chords of his muscles begin to tighten.
Shit, he's going to take a swing. He hates being touched.
“It's just me,” I say quickly. “Only me.”
“I know it's you.” His voice comes out slurred and gruff.
“Are you okay?”
He yanks his arm away. “I'm fine. Leave me the fuck alone. I don't need your help.”
I force myself to ignore the sharp sting of his words before slowly backing away from him.
He falls against the alley wall and hangs his head. “Christ, I hate it when Tyrone's right. I'm never drinking again.”
“Famous last words,” I say before I can stop myself.
Memories of the day we first met and when he said those very same words to me begin to play through my head like a slideshow...
At least, until his head snaps up and he shoots me a look so threatening the entire world stops. “Fuck you,” he spews.

Holy mother of pearl. This book has left me speechless. Three things about this book that will stay with me forever. It had its laugh out loud moments.
It had me in the corner with my Blankey rocking back and forth crying. The end of this book gave me  goose bumps.
