This book was pretty emotional for me to read . The characters all held strong emotions that you could feel throughout the pages struggling in there own ways.

Billie a newly hired maid for a well known rich couple Alana, and Rick begins to struggle with certain issues at once . The first night she is there she sees something that she isn't used to , or ready to see. Rick with another woman. Not knowing what to do , or how to handle such she knows she must tell his wife Alana about it. Alana , and Rick have an arrangement , and Alana shrugs it off , but for Billie it's much harder to do. Feeling that Alana is getting the raw end of the deal she becomes very protective so much so that she begins to explore other emotions she has found for her boss. Falling head over heels for Alana , and realizing she is a lesbian brings about many choices , and challenges that are like no other.

With Alana , and her husband having a influential group of friends, and the risk of getting caught what could it mean for all of them? Can Rick really support his wife , and the nanny ? Can Billie's family look over there old fashioned way of life?

So much is explored in this book , and many obstacles as well , but it does deliver a sweet hea, and even a rescued dog.
It has 5 solid stars for creativity, character development, and plot . In the steam catagory it gets a 3 .

My Review

A Lady of Embers by Erin O’Kane

This is the first book I’ve read by Erin O’Kane , and I do appreciate her style of writing. This book has many different characters throughout the story , but is centered on our heroine Annalise a fae , Elijah someone who is not from her realm , and the master . Although another character will play a big part later on.
Annalise is a likeable character , a fighter of will all her life , but I did find alil much repetition about her past . Elijah , well there are so many questions than answers still swaying in my mind. But he was also a likeable character even if he shouldn’t have been . I found myself drawn to him , and his power. The master , well the author did a fantastic job making him just how he was supposed to be . In every sense of the word.
Kidnapped, and taken to another realm far away from anything remotely the same to what your used to , and then given a choice submit or be locked away . What do you choose, and in unfamiliar land ? Promises of anything if only Annalise does that very thing , but everything comes with a price . Especially when she may have found her long dormant powers , and the other part of her soul.

I loved how descriptive the author was in the telling of this fantasy , the way she made you feel as if you were watching it from above , but I was waiting for the moments of romance that clearly needed to happen, and didn’t. Understandable so with everyone watching, but for a reverse harem I did expect some steam , and this one fizzled out . It was more of a pg13 book than just for adults.

Still it was captivating enough that I was immersed in the story, as I watched the plot grow , and end on a very large cliff hanger which I will buy the next book , because I have to know what happens.

Strong characters - absolutely!
Did I love it? Lo prometto ( i promise!)

Oh what a book!!! I Couldn't put it down for the life of me, I was captured from page 1! The characters Brielle and Michael were the perfect style of characters to read about. Brielle such an easy going 21 year old gets a job as a pastry chef working for a restaurant front for the Chicago Syndicate . She's not immature at all , but when a man like Michael shows interest the other goings on kind of fly out the window.
Oh and Michael, he's the head guard of the Syndicate, very serious, deeply intense no nonsense kind of guy , a killer that has no remorse. Going through some guilt ridden issues, something catches his eye with the new pastry chef, and in his line of work there can't be any mistakes. The Man in black doesn't believe in coincidences , but he's going to find the truth no matter what it takes.
As this rollercoaster starts in motion , actions lead to some consequences that nobody ever imagined would be possible, and it's a non stop thrill ride throughout the climax!
One of the best romantic suspense Books of the year by far! Fantastic storytelling Soraya Naomi!

I was given a copy of this book for my honest review. This was a little different than the usual paranormal type books I read first of all. There was a lot of information included, but I think for the readers benefit it needed to be placed . Although I often found the storyline moving upward quickly, captivating me, other times it felt as if everything was at a snails pace, pushing me to read.
I loved the overall story, evil vs good, Angel vs Demon , in a most creative way I've read thus far. A families history , a love for a sister, a small group of teens into adulthood, as life transforms everything around them.

This was an interesting story at the very least. The imaginations from both authors was very intriguing, and it makes you crave more. You want to see how far they go , or are willing to go to make the story.

Nick and Ivy locked away somewhere there minds abused and played with. Drugged, hypersensitive stimuli puts them through every test imaginable. Faced with death , can they get out before it's too late?
For myself I love these types of books, erotic , bondage, mind tricks , which this story had all.
The only problem is I had volunteered to read this story and had not read the prior, so I was lost.
There was so much I wanted to know, but wasn't privy to the information at the time.

Wake will have you feeling guilty , needy, tensed up , ashamed , and needing more! How do I even begin to summarize Wake?
I felt like Anna in a strange sense, should I be reading this? Knowing whats going on? Maybe liking Sam in an odd sense even throughout his messed up torture? Because when he does those other things , how can you not? You can't help but feel naughty as you continue reading as it only gets worse, and Holy HeII!! I've never read such creativity from Any author! The birdcage, for his little bird , an such Mind Blowing Brilliant Ideas for such a deranged Man like Samael the light bringer the commander of death. Anna, the innocent one, now considered pure filth, vermin. The man she left behind, is now scarred , hated, full of wrath. She had never lost hope. But now maybe the time, as those 6 years long gone , are going to be made up for, all at once.
This book is Dark, if you can't help being held against your will, forced sex etc then this isn't for you, but if you like to journey into unknown territories, and drift into darkness, this will submerge you head first .
There were very few typos but I was so absorbed, truly they didn't bother me, and there wasn't enough to make any difference.
The ending , was another hair puller!! Please tell me there will be a part 2 coming? Because that just drove me beyond mad!

You couldn't help but fall in love with Evelyn's character, the tragedy within her life, and the music box.
Find out how much one simple object becomes so much in so many lives , and a wish of a last goodbye.
A 5 star historical romance, with the struggles of death, sadness, life, and happiness.

“Sometimes good people have to do bad things,”
This book took me some time to figure out how to put what I wanted to say into words for my review.
At first it started out really slow, which is unusual for anyone that reads PJ Adams. Then it was skipping from past tense to present tense between both of the main characters Alex, and Sunita . It was slow until a quarter or so of the way in at least, but after getting through those periods of past present slowness you understand later that the information is quite crucial halfway in the book, carrying on to the end. You would be completely confused of the complexity in Alex, and Laura, as well as other important characters, and happenings. The Plot is terrific and catches you off guard and I must add The author wrote the ending with one he1l of a punch!

Some swoony worthy moments , a woman that isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in whether its with guns pointed or drinking coffee, and a hero that will go beyond his own laws to protect and help the one he loves.

'Sometimes, even though the timing isn’t right, you need to take your opportunities rather than risk losing them forever.'

“I love you,” he whispered , and knew then that with those words he risked hurting her far more brutally than anything physical.

Karim is  forced to take a wife. He finds it very unappealing.
Karim wants the same kind of love his parents had.
He had all but given up hope until Giselle walks into the room.

After they have a taste of each other, what will Giselle do when she finds out who he really  is?

There is not a book that Alexa Riley has written that hasn't been a 5 star read for me. I don't know if it's the insta-love or the over the top possessiveness of the alpha male.  Just something draws me to them everytime.
